Views of the valleys, Miramar, and Miramar Mountain improve with every painful step up. Hiking gloves may come in handy. There are a couple little points on the high ridge to hike up and down before the final push to the narrow summit (and marker). Well worth the effort! Reverse the description from hike 84 for the rough route 2 mi to the flat saddle juncture, then on to Miramar Mountain, or down almost 5 mi more on Miramar Trail. Otherwise return the same way for the most expedient route.
