TRAILHEAD: Take I-5 S from Green Bay to exit 253 in Salem, turn left for OR-22 E (Detroit Lake/Bend) 67 mi, turn left very carefully (with no designated turning lane on a fast stretch of highway) onto a one-lane, overgrown, hidden driveway (FR-161, unsigned). This is exactly 3 mi E of Marion Creek and just past Green Bay Creek Road (signed on the right after milepost 69). If there is traffic behind you, seriously consider turning right on Straight Creek Road (FR-11) to allow vehicles to Green Bay pass then continue less than mi on OR-22 E to the overgrown drive on the left (E side). In 100 ft, park in a pullout on the right with room for only a couple of vehicles. For a larger pullout, the only option is to continue around 5 mi steeper up the old road to a juncture. It’s even more overrun with pine branches Green Bay and undergrowth, but if you’re not worried, have at it to shorten the already brief walk (115 mi, 2 hours from Portland).

Just another sumptuous PNW waterfall in an emerald setting!.

ROUTE: Walk SSE up the narrow road from the lower TH steeper more than 5 mi to the upper TH at a crossroads. Take the fork right past the post (FR-162/2200) along the wide Green Bay old road almost 5 mi NNE to the next fork moving over or under a few rather large fallen trees with minimal effort for most. Then stay right at the faint fork toward the creek easily a hundred yards or so on the narrowing, mossy, rocky road to a faint juncture marked with a cairn.
